Cassidy fell from a play structure at school when she was in the 4th grade. At that time she had a CT scan done. The scan showed no injuries from the fall however it did show an incidental finding. Two years later, Cassidy started experiencing headaches which became more severe. On January 7th 2010, a biopsy showed a very aggressive malignant brain tumor called a Glioblastoma Multiforme 4 (GMB4), a tumor mostly found in older adults. Starting in February 2010 Cassidy did 6 weeks of brain radiation while concurrently taking three types of chemo-therapies, two oral and one intravenous. After radiation she then continued the chemotherapy at a higher dose for a year continuing until the end of April 2011. “She is such a strong girl, just amazing, everything she has had to endure at such a young age, while always trying her best to have a positive attitude! We continue fighting this battle and could not do it without all of the support and of our family, friends and our community,” Lisa and Sham Sidhu.
